Humorous photo-related misspellings

Let's make a list. I'll start with some of my favorites:

It's no longer a popular spelling, especially in the US, but it's by no means incorrect.

Well, this isn't an internet misspelling, but Jim Lager has a photo of a Leica KE-7A, made for the military, that is mis-engraved, "CAMERA STILL PICTUPE." It's on page 192 of the 1978 edition of his book, "Leica Illustrated Guide II." Jim likes to show this picture sometimes at LSHA meetings.

Please be gentle on all who grew up with alternative spellings and those whose first language is not English. When linguists study language, one of the last things they worry about is spelling by convention--that is relegated more to teachers of grade school and high school grammar and spelling.

A careful reader might find some of the spellings revealing of how different languages interchange different letter, too.

My favorite is when someone picks a random word written on the camera, and decides that's the name of the camera. Often they use the name of the shutter—"For sale: Synchro-Compur camera." Sometimes it's the lens ("Mint Zuiko camera").

Please also understand that language, both written and spoken, changes if it is to continue in use, if this bothers you try latin. If you really only like to look somewhat scholarly infront of others, again latin works
