the gods are conspiring against me!!

my summicron 40/2 that was waiting at the post office for me this afternoon was busted up in transit.
the focusing tab broke into pieces and the tiny screw that holds said tab on to the lens, fell into the lens and now blocks it from focusing further than 4 feet.

damn damn damn!!

so, while i am not buying anything more as per my 'i am done' post, i am not done in that i will be missing this lens in the lineup until i can fuss with the insurance and hope kinderman canada has a spare tab and will do a quick repair.

i could not be more disappointed especially after what turns out to be my premature celebration of 'doneness'.
