found a pretty good deal locally on an unused domke 1fx bag! young guy, got it as a gift and it was way too big for his nikon and 2 lenses...
so pretty much everything i own photo-wise fits comfortably in it...4 bodies with lenses attached, all the spare batteries, one spare charger, all my sd cards, business cards...oh, and the 5th body, the xm1 fits in the front pocket under the flap...if i get another lens someday it could fit too!!
also all the front/back caps for the 4 lenses...i doubt that the bag will ever leave the house except for transit purposes but it's very nice to have it all together...in case of a fire, i have the dog and bag to grab...maybe my pants as well ;)...

I actually bought one of those weathered brown styled FX5b's that were mentioned on the other thread, using credit card points! (or maybe it was the A people were discussing, but I went with B.) Kinda excited about it. I haven't had a Domke in years.

Good Bag!

It is a good bag. I have one. I have used it as a Nikon bag, and then again as a Hasselblad bag. I can get a 500c/m in one end; a SWC in the other; plus four more lenses for the 500c/m. There is room for two extra film backs; film; filters; and Compendium shade.

The only thing is that it gets too heavy and is too bulky to use as a walkaround bag. In fact, it's not easy (for me) to lift it when fully loaded. So I think it is best regarded as a car bag or a "location bag" that you bring to the site of a shoot and then take what you need at the moment to put into a smaller bag, like an F2 or a Think Tank Retrospective 7.

One last thing: I like the way it fits, down on the floor, behind the driver's seat, in front of the back seat. Toss a jacket over it and no one knows it's there.

i think my favourite domke is the f6, little bit smaller...fits my shooting style the best.
though now i am on the hunt for an 5xa...

I cheated on Domke and got a small Lowepro for a joke of a price. I can carry either a Leica M body and an additional lens, or my Nikon SB-600 flash... along with my X100 (when I had it). Recently, one of my F5XBs became free when I sold my M3... and it'll get even freer once I sell my collapsible glass.

But I don't know if I'll sell the bag. I like bags! :) Congratulations on yours, joe! ;)

I also have an F1-X and agree that it's not a carry round, but it's great for trips in the car as it's just so capacious. My walk around bag is my 26 yr. old F-2, still going strong although it had an operation a couple of years ago; the rubber in the strap wore out and it had to have a strap replacement.
