When I get like that I just give it a few days up to 2-3 weeks. If it doesn't go away, the I start to seriously read reviews, look at online images, etc... If the feeling still doesn't go away, then I buy whatever it is. Life's too short to drive yourself crazy over camera gear.
Now bags... that's a different story.

I just talked myself out of the zoom last weekend
....
The more I thought about it, as good as the zoom is for Fuji, I would rather stay w/ prime lenses for it. I plan to eventually get a second body, the 14f2.8 and the 27f2.8. That would give me the same setup I had on my two CL setup (21&40).. Total of 5 native x lenses (14, 18, 27, 35, and 60).. Plus two manual rf lenses, Canon rf 50 1.2 and Konica 21/35 (dual - my zoom kind of).

well there goes my 'sure sale'!
lol!
i am a prime guy...the zoom makes so much sense in my head, especially on the x-e1 but...
there is a 60 for sale locally, for $500. that i may see if it's still there tomorrow.

I was playing around w/ the 2 CL setup this last weekend... That was what convinced me.. Don't get me wrong, I use zooms, just on the Fuji, I decided to just use primes. Timing is everything...

No problem...ditch squeaky zoom, get prime....life goes on.
back alley. Sounds like GAS to me. You really want the lens that isn't out yet... the 56mm right? Just wait. -

I'm a no-zoom-thanks-anyway dinosaur.
I don't like it, but I'm just patiently waiting for the XF primes I really want.
Because the Fuji APS-C X system has authentic momentum in the market, buying and selling lenses now isn't a bad idea.

Short trip.

Zoom and 35 would more than make me happy. Never been a super wide kinda guy, but that may change with the 14....

been using mine like a 18mm prime (mostly). The lens is wicked sharp. By far the best zoom i've tried and this includes all the nikon zooms

+1
I am waiting for the 56 too
Lately have found myself trying to rationalize the 60 even though I have no use for a macro...

So many options, so many doubts....should I stay far away from the X system?

no!
come join us...the x cameras are great fun and wonderful image makers!!!
the bottom line for me is that i don't care for zoom lenses and most probably should have stayed with the 60...

All my doubts about the zoom left me when I saw these shots from India...

It seems really, really nice. Definitely worth keeping imo.
And, I am a prime guy as well...

Ah, i have tried the 60mm this week-end, it seems to be nice, but i'll wait for the 56mm. In the meantime, i'll just use a manual focus 50mm with an adapter (and perhaps get the 18mm).

best for me to keep the zoom till some new lenses are released and then decide what i'll do...the pancake 27 on the x-e1 might be sweet...
