especially good film from Kodak. Mine was delivered this evening and I'm ready to give it a try; have you gotten yours yet or am I late to this party?
I just received my some Kodak sample 35mm 36 exp. Tmax, 100 and 400 by post and I wanted to hear which developers you like.
Back-in-the-day, read late 80s-early 90s, I developed Tmax 100 extensively for a friend/client in his studio, as well as my own stuff when I was freelancing and it was really great stuff in Rodinal at box speed; I liked it much better than Pan-X and it was well behaved in most cases. I've not shot it much since and I understand its been 'improved' so I want some feed back.
I can do it in PKM Pyro, HC-110, Parodinal, or any other developer I can compound from a fair selection of chemicals in my darkroom, including glycin. I don't want to do Xtol or other Pyro developers at the moment so they're off the list.
I have no real experience with the 400 stuff, having tried it long ago and preferring Tri-X and HP5.
What do you like about this and how are you shooting and developing it? I will be shooting both films available light, outside in most cases.
Is it ok to push, at box speed or best pulled?
Post pics if you can so I can see your best, or worst, with Tmax please.
Cheers

I didn't know Kodak was sending out free film. Lucky you!

Ambitious, but rubbish
Yes, how did you get free film?

Do tell, how did that happen, seeing how they (Kodak) were
not too willing to give some of the RFF members any
of the Ektar 100 samples. Although I was lucky enough to get some
to try.

I received a free roll of Ektar 100 & Tmax 400 from Kodak at the Photo Plus Expo held in NY last month. I havn't tried either one yet.

Wow, this really sucks, 'cause all I vaguely remember is responding to a Kodak offer for free samples of their Tmax 'Professional' films. It wasn't all that long ago but my memory is so bad for this sort of thing that, I though they might have run out of samples, LOL, so I was really surprised it showed up yesterday.
That is also why I thought others here had already received some, months ago; I wish I could explain it but I'm at a loss.
I think it was last year that a lot of us here received samples of Kodak Professional Portra Film, in 35mm or 120, so that might have led to something else. Normally I could back-track through my emails and other data on my Macbook, but I had to wipe it completely Friday and I've been reloading software for two days and everyone here knows how much fun that is.
Ektar 100, I wonder if I can get them to send me some of that too.
Sorry not to be able to help,
Eli
