I got mine here at the classified it goes from around 200 upward depends on model and condition. Mine was working well, I checked all speed, etc. Was expecting that I might have to do a CLA but it wasn't necessary so i was lucky. I'd say keep looking for a good one it comes up here or then.

I got a IIIf with a heavily marked collapsible 50/2 Summicron locally for $400. It was a steal. I ended up selling the lens for $250 IN SPITE of the fact it was very flare prone and producing soft images. I wasn't about to spend the money to get it re-coated. But someone really wanted it. Long story short the body ended up being a steal. I doubt they would normally go for that cheap. The body works great. Was CLA'd in 2005. A few scuffs here or there. No collector camera, but not ugly either.

I love my IIIf when I want to put a camera in a small bag and walk around. I scale focus more often than not with it. And I've done ok by that. My Canon 50/1.5 lives on it. Though I'm on the hunt for a decent 50/3.5 Elmar or 35/3.5 Summaron to make the package even smaller.

I just picked up a IIIf red dial self timer body with grey vulcanite for $275 (and the clear plastic covering is still on the baseplate!). The timer supposedly didn't work, but all it took was a little tightening of the screw and it was fine. Just ran a test roll through it and all is good!

So congrats on your purchase too -- now go take some photos!

I absolutely hate "cat and camera" pictures.

Here's mine; it's just like yours and all the others. But, I am probably at the limit of how close a man-and-object can be without loss of public standing or reputation.

I bought the camera from a retired Dentist. He bought it from a friend that had recently passed away. His friend was the original owner. The camera reminded him of his 1st Leica, but his vision is now too poor to use the camera. Thus the sale. He was hopeful that the camera would go to someone who would use it. He reached into his library as I was leaving his home and gave me the book in the photo. He knew that his price was low, but he was more interested in the camera being used. I'll be sending him the results of the 1st roll at his request.

Who said that?...😀

Timely thread...
Just yesterday I got another IIIf delivered. A RD with 50mm Summarit and 3.5 Summaron. Here's a photo (without a cat 🙂)
