There I was, peacefully browsing the Internet - One of the last 2.5/125Apo-Macro Lanthars, new, struck my eye. Now it is on its way to me, and I don't even know if these lenses are as good as the other CV offerings - and the M8 has no framelines... At any rate the 90 adapter will fit, and a 58 mm 486 filter I have lying around....

Jaap,
I´m very sorry, but as far as I know the apo macro lanthar is not M39, but M42 aka scewmount for slr like pentax spotmatic. Are you sure that you can adapt it?

No I cannot :bang: I found the same issue even before I read your post and you are 100% right.

Puuh, that´s good. I´m happy you could have cancelled the order.

My M5s need red dots!
Jaap... I'm afraid your self-diagnostic was correct: you're a maniac.
But then, I am one too... Just have a bit more self-control some times.

Hey Jaap,
I can send an M42 body if you really want to try the lens.
If you don't like it, you can send it to me instead of putting it in the bin.

Please, in the spirit of this forum, allow US to judge whether you are a maniac or not.

If you're a maniac, I'm a utter lost cause. I seem to be collecting random 50mm lenses that I don't need...
At least the one you mentioned was a nice addition to an already substatial kit.

I started off bad and it just got worse
Now I've stumbled on a last-edition mint 135/4.0 and I have no framelines and I already have a 135/2.8 goggled I never use:bang: . I'll run side by side tests to salve my conscience, but I already know the outcome. Anybody interested in purchasing a A+first-gen (double hood) 135/2.8 coded and including series7 486 filter, checked by Leica too... offers?

Jaap. where in the world did you find a series 7 486 filter? I've tried everywhere without luck?

www.foto-huppert.de It is a special order and will take about two to three weeks, but they are in stock from time to time as well. E41 filters as well.
Basically B&W will produce a filter in any size and shape on order, and the prices are not too bad either.

I have the 1st version of that lens, I really love it. I have an old generic 35-200 zoom finder which should have a perfect spot for framing it on an M8. I also have the short focusing mount for it too, that goes on a Visoflex, or with the 14167 V-to-R adaptor and an R-to-EF adaptor it goes on my 20D. A 216mm lens that fits in my pocket. And with the EF 1.4x behind it, a pocketable 300mm f/5.6. The big plus of that lens is it's already in top form wide open.
Would really love to try my screw mount 105/2.5 Nikkor on an M8. At 140mm equivalent a 135mm accessory finder should be just about right.
