I need help identifying this device

Hallo zusammen,
Ich bin neu hier. Ich habe dieses Gerät in einer Kiste meiner Großmutter gefunden. Leider habe ich vergessen, sie danach zu fragen. Es scheint zum Entwickeln von Bildern verwendet worden zu sein, aber ich kann das Gerät nicht identifizieren. Könnt ihr mir helfen? Was ist das und wird es heute noch verwendet?

I'm new here. I found this device in a box belonging to my grandmother. Unfortunately, I neglected to ask her about it. It seems to have been used for developing pictures, but I can't identify the device. Can you help me? What is it and is it still in use today?

Might be an enlarger box. There’s a similar item in eBay currently.

It's a contact printing box. Put the negative on the glass, put the paper over the negative, turn on the light bulb to make the exposure. The metal blades are for cropping the image. It seems the glass is missing from your example, or somebody was using it to print glass plate negatives and so removed the glass.

Es handelt sich um eine Kontaktkopierbox. Legen Sie das Negativ auf die Glasplatte, legen Sie das Papier darüber und schalten Sie die Glühbirne ein, um die Belichtung durchzuführen. Die Metallklingen dienen zum Zuschneiden des Bildes. Anscheinend fehlt in Ihrem Beispiel die Glasplatte, oder jemand hat sie zum Drucken von Glasplattennegativen verwendet und deshalb die Glasplatte entfernt.

Contact printer - correct!

A Zeiss, possibly 1930s-1940s, so a small collectable as well as a family 'heirloom' of a sort. Not worth a mint, but someone will buy. I sold one a few years ago for, IRRC, +/-AUD $100-$125. To a collector in Japan. Mine was in its original box.

I'm not sure if a glass if needed for it or not. The cover pad may well hold the negative and paper suitably flat for contact printing.
