I ordered a leather kit for one of my M3's from cameraleather.com I have inquired 3 times via email to info@cameraleather.com about when he is going to ship and received no reply.

I filed a form 6401 with the post office to determine if the money order has been cashed which it has been cashed by Morgan Sparks but he will not reply to any of my emails.

This is the second time I have ordered from him and had problems and it will be the last time.

Colyn, I had emailed in the past and NEVER received an email in reply. I was very keen on getting leather for the Rolleiflex. I give up with them, their customer service is poor.

Sorry to hear that. It's an established company, I'm sure you'll get your product eventually. I've had great luck and fast service from Aki Asahi of Japan.

I have read on this and other forums that he is notoriously slow. Is there a phone number you can try?

I once bought a leather covering from Aki Asahi (basic black, #4008), and it arrived in 4 days from Japan.

It might be a spam filter issue, too. Have you tried it with another mailaccount? Or maybe another RFF member has Mr. Sparks phone number and could help Colyn? I don't believe cameraleather are scammers.

It's been over 2 months and no response. I'm giving him one more week then I will contact the post office in an attempt to get my money back even if I have to file fraud charges.
I've bought from Aki Asahi several times and gotten excellent service. He will be the one to get any future purchases from me.

My mail account worked fine when I ordered the kit. Had no problems sending and receiving then. If it is spam filters then he has added my email to it..
If he takes my money and does not send the kit I will consider him a thief. Hopefully though he's just being slow as others have suggested.

To put your mind at ease, Morgan is not a thief. I have made over 30 purchases from him. Yes at times he is slow. Cameraleather is his second job. It is a one man company. From experience,I know he often travels on his first job, sometimes for a week or more. Most of the time he has to cut the leather after he receives your order. He has the biggest selection of camera covers in the world and the best fitting. I have tried others but always found his to be the best. I have his Phone # and will call him for you. I know how you feel, who among us that deals or has bought from Ebay has not been ripped off at least once. Heck, I am waiting for Shintaro in Japan, to finsh a paint job on a camera I sent to him close to a year ago. After many months , and many unanswered emails to him , he emailed me and said that my camera was done and it was being mailed yesterday. Any way I will try to help you with your order. I feel you will be happy with your camera when you dress it up with his product. SALTYFLI

He was a bit slow on my order for the green leather for my 35SP. He had been on vacation, but replied when he returned and I got my leather quickly after that. I have heard of several people who have had more problems, though. I DO recommend calling him.

I also have dealt with Morgan and while he can be slow, he will fill your order. I bought a cobra kit for a Yashica GSN from him that took several months. He did email me after the first month to explain that he was having trouble finding a piece of cobra big enough and offering a refund. I decided to wait, and eventually got a perfectly fitting kit that looks great.

On the other extreme, the jade composite leather kit that dresses up my Contax 139 (hangs head in shame... an SLR!) came in ten days. Like the cobra, it fit perfectly. I also cut my own, and I can appreciate the effort he puts into his kits.

Used him twice - once for a black lizard skin for a GIII, took about 4 weeks, the next, a much more common Vulcanette C, which arrived in the U.K. after about 9 days. So maybe it's something about how exotic/rare the leather is ? Or inbound customs? It's nice stuff though.

edit:

Anybody recovered a Canon VI-L (assume same dimensions as the P?) or a 7 with any of his leathers, and can post a image? Cheers.

I'll be waiting for his response.
