So yes, I use a Minolta spot meter and have for thirty five years. I like the ease where I can record a highlight and shadow reading, then hit the average button and get my exposure reading.
I have been having trouble with the meter, it is getting old and have been looking at the same age Pentax digital V spot meter. Now I have not been able to see if it operates in the same average of the two readings, it operates in the EV scale only and that is no problem for me but does it do an average reading.
If not it would mean me using a piece of pen and paper.
Any help out there on this issue please would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
James.

Have you any thoughts on repairing/servicing your meter rather than replacing it ??
You can contact George Milton at Quality Light Metric in Hollywood, CA.
He's repaired/updated many meters of a lot of folks in this forum...I have four meters he's overhauled, two of them Weston Ranger 9's from the mid 1960's...now converted to modern type batteries.

It might be worth a call to find out if your can be brought back to like new condition.
