maybe you know that recently my 40 arrived broken and unusable.
insurance...who knows how long that's gonna take...

now, i'm thinking about a new cv 40/1.4 - the mc is about $250.
the 90/2.8 broke my camera bank so i am completely tapped out for the moment.

do i have something to trade or sell...hhmmmmm?

i'm thinking about the 28/3.5 nikkor, it goes for more than the 40/1.4...hhhmmm...

anyone interested in talking to me about this?

p.m., please.

and i AM done, this involves a 40 which technically i have now as a done person.
i will re-aquire a 28 later to keep things done.
and when the 40/2 is repaired, i will evaluate the 2 lenses and decide which to keep and which to sell.

satisfaction is relative.

I'm never quite happy. I am 99% happy with my setup right now, but I'll never be 100% happy till I've got an M7 or MP with 28, 50, 75. Then I'll want an F6 with a long fast VR zoom (just because it represents the final and highest point in film SLR technology) and a Linhof Technorama III. And a MINT M3 + old style Summilux. And a CV 15mm. That would honestly do it. I would lust no more.

The Nokton is a nice lens. If I were going to buy into a CV system, I'd own the Nokton 40 and the Color Heliar 75.

i read about the summicron...but i thought you were just getting it fixed. not up for waiting around are we? i must admit...it's hard to live without a functioning 40!!

Hey,

I did the F6, 70-200 f2:8 IS route. I ended up selling it and buying an MP along with a bunch of vintage Leica glass. Be careful what you wish for!

Cheers,

Heh Joe when the 40 /2 is returned, and if you have the inclination, I'm sure many would be interested to hear your opinions on the differences between the two 40s - is the extra stop the way to go or does the f2 cut the mustard.

Or maybe they're just different types of mustard.....

You know it, but anyway. Have a 40 with small camera attached. An Oly RC for example, around $50 plus shipping.

Cheers,
Ruben
