Everybody knows that with a Nikon D3 your photographs are automatically awesome. So, it follows that if he owned one, it is irrefutable that he would.

Whether he'd be more famous than either above-mentioned blokes, who knows...perhaps if he asked Gursky his agent's name!
 
Thanks for pointing him out, I didn't know him. I'm still undecided whether to consider him a great artist or a village joke, but I appreciate that you have to have a bit of personality to do things like The Artist and his Second Wife 1937 (Leg of Mutton Nude).

The English Modernists get overshadowed by all the isms on the continent at the time, wrongly in my opinion.

His second wife Patricia was homosexual and spent their honeymoon with a girlfriend, so there is a certain tension in that particular painting
 
Quite possibly. But if you include the under appreciated Earl Scheib, the entire pantheon changes...

So, I have spent some time looking at what I can find on line by Spencer and that flip remark was unkind at best, sorry.
"Better" than Picasso? Well, not for my taste but quite good, I think.
