If you had $500 to waste...

I'd buy a digital point and shoot with a slow zoom lens and hang around pnet asking "whether it's any good". Only if I'm still welcome there of course..

In my present frame of mind, I'd spring for a Canon P/7 and a Canon or Nikkor LTM 50mm.

A) Get my Ricoh GR1 and most-recently-wounded Konica Auto S3 sent off for repairs (hopefully soon, and hopefully for well under $500);

B) Buy an Olympus C8080...because digicams do come in handy sometimes;

C) 50-roll box each of XP2, HP5, Portra 160NC;

D) Boxes of HP ink carts and paper to Feed The Printer

E) Finally buy that 1.2gHz dual-processor upgrade for my G4 tower

Oy...time for that first cup of tea...

FRANKly, These "Which is better?" "How long did you dream about a Leica?" and "If you had $500 to waste.." questions all have a familiar sound to them.... and from a brand new member too....

OK, I'll bite- I'd buy anything as long as it says LEICA on it, because we all know those German engineered LEICAS can't be beat. What do YOU think, Chico? 😉

Hmm...I just took the plunge...$450.00 to be exact.
Canon P + 50mm 1.8

I also have a summitar 50mm that im dying to try out. Whatever lens like better I will keep the, the other will have a sign on it reading "SE VENDE" ...

Now im just waiting for the P coming for Europe

Im going to have some gear for sale shortly
Nikon F3
Nikon 55mm macro 2.8 ais
A bag or two
Contax G 35mm Lens in box w.bag and front/rear caps
Bogen 3221 and 3265 head
Probably some other stuff as well..if you see something you want PM me with an offer

I have a gorgeous working camera for every mood and every season: nothing top-of-the-line, mind, but all totally loved.
I'd buy a scanner for my MF stuff. The Epson 4990 should be plummeting in price soon - newer model and all - or would $500 be enough *for* the newer model? 🙂

I just bought a CV 28/1.9 and a CV 28/35 minifinder last week from Photo Village. Oh wait, that brings me over budget already! Dang. I guess I'll just have to spring for $500 worth of additional gear.
