TEST RESULTS BELOW ok I won this you know where. The small bakealite case says Geiss Synchron Contact for Leica. Its mark on the dial 3c. It has a shoe mount base that holds the flash contact. A slip on dial goes on the shutter speed dial. It fires the flash no problem. Only problem no instructions. What shutter speed do you use 1/30? Dial unit has 3 settings P, V and EI I assume EI is for electronic. any ideas.

ok seeing as no one has any info and google search was useless I shoot a test roll 1/30 to 1/100 one frame at each setting ( EI, V and P ) and we will see what turns out.

Put a card behid the shutter and fire the flash into the opening with no lens. The fastest speed which the whole card can be seen is it, or slower is ok.

You can put some glow in the dark tape in there from the bottom attached to a card.
You have it when the full film gate glows. This is how the wedding photogs check sync before a job.

With an m, cover the gate with a business card and leave a crack at one end and then the other. You should get light thru both sides if everything is ok.

I suspect that any instructions you could find from that era would be for use with focal plane flashbulbs. Very few devices of that era considered strobe. You should be able to work out an adjustment for strobe by the methods suggested above, IF the range of adjustments goes far enough.

here are the results of the test. disregard the subject. I used the blackboard to record the setting. It appears to sync at 1/30 and 1/40 but not at 1/60 or 1/100.
