I've just my IIIg back from Peter at CRR after a minor service and thought, as the whereabouts of various Camera repairs seems to be the hot topic of today, that I would wave a flag for Peter.

I have been having some problems with shutter bounce , a faint underexposed line on the edge of my slides and lately the speed dial started loosening its self off. Often when retightened the dial would wander and miss read .After each fire of the shutter the dial would slip slighty so that after 36 the speed dial was completely out with the indicator arrow and changing shutter speeds became a matter of feeling the pattern of holes. It was to do with the shutter brake mechanism and after cleaning and adjusting all is now well again

I am very pleased with the results on three counts -

Great quality of work -
Body cleaned and lubricated, brake cleaned/adjusted shutter and RF cleaned and adjusted. Reassembled , collimated and checked. He even replaced Speed Dial and DA screw for NO CHARGE !!!

Time -
1 week !!

Cost
For a minor service he charged me just £70

I know he is known to many here already as he has been trading for many years but I had always associated him with the repainting and refinishing services he offers.

He's one of the best. He did an amazing job cleaning my M4-p viewfinder for not very much at all. Highly recommended and as good a service person as DAG or sherry
