Hi all,

Could anyone give me starting times for theese films

Ilford Pan 50
FP4 125
HP5+
Delta 100

so I can experimen and ajdust accordingly? I am interested in nominal speeds and also maybe a one or two stop push with this developer if anyone has tried. I know there are better choices but I wish to try Ilford films (been using EFKE so far) with this developer, and wouldnt like to bring aditional unknowns in to the picture.

Cheers and many thanx

OK, we can make a deal!

I've been using Ilford so far and want to move into Efke (Adox actually, but it seems to be the same formula).

So if I give you my figures, I'd appreciate to get yours!

Also using Rodinal, by the way!

I only use HP5+ and FP4+ and I tend to overexposure and underdevelop for easy filmscanning with my not-too-advanced equipment.

Actually, my times for both filmtypes are identical:

- exposure ISO for the HP5+ is 200 and for the FP4+ is 65
- Rodinal 1+50
- normal temperature (20 degrees celcius)
- 7 minutes
- agitation: 3 times, duration: 5 seconds

I've also exposed an FP4+ at ISO 250 and developed for 9 minutes, this was fine as well!

No experience yet pushing the HP5+...

Good luck!

I use the box speeds, and 15 mins (@68F) 1:100 very little agitation, for FP4+ or HP5+ Delta 400 or 100 etc. about once every 3 to 5 mins, (after an initial foam) and then water bath for 5 mins. The negatives will print (multigrade papers) or scan ok but look almost underexposed.

I use several 5x tanks it is too difficult segregating films to bother about a different time, but I do make sure the water starts at 68.

Suggested times are:

Ilfor Pan: 6' (1 + 25) or 12' (1 + 50)
FP4 125: 8' (1 +25) or 18' (1 +50)
HP5+: 8' (1 + 25)
Delta 100: 9' (1 + 25) ορ 16' (1 + 50)

in temperature of 20 C.

My usual is HP5 (or TriX) pushed one stop. Ilford recommends (for HP5) in the box 8' in 1 +25 for ISO 800 (and 6' for normal development) - so there's a slight discrepancy between the two charts but no big difference in the final result as far as I can say.

FP4 EI80, 10mins 1:50 20C. This has worked for me with very nice results

guys, thanx for awesome and quick replies!

Here are my EFKE times for "the one who traded his Ilford times" ;-)

EFKE in Rodinal 1+50
25 ASA– 4.5-5 minutes
50 ASA– 7-8 minutes
100 ASA– 9.5 – 10 minutes

Those are the times to achieve box speed.

Here is the push :

Rodina 1+50

EFKE 100 to 400 - 20min
EFKE 400-1600, 3200 and 6400 I didnt try but will try with some times for TriX since it is also an ancient emulsion... COULD work :p

cheers

Last night I was forced to shoot HP5+ @ 1280 (didn't want to go up to 1600). Does anyone have experience with this combo in Rodinal 1+50? I'm guessing around 19-20 minutes @ 68deg.
