I'm giving away 100 ft of B&W film!

Lol! Amazing offer! Wish I had the time to work on something. I have 3 rolls of tri-x and haven't even got the guts to go throw them yet.

I read your post and I could see applying for it - I'm certainly broke enough and always hunting for film. Still, I think not.

First, there are others here who are students and need it worse than I do. I can always scrounge a few bucks for some rebraded Fuji at Walgreens.

Second, the only semi-serious project I have going at the moment is documenting a year at an old cemetary just outside of town and one of the things I've found that makes it different from any of a hundred other cemetary books is that I'm doing it in color.

Now if you were offering a hundred feet of Kodachrome...

It's a good thing you're doing & I hope someone will put that Arista.Edu Ultra to very good use.

William

Hey guys, thanks for the responses.

wlewisiii: I have two rolls of Kodachrome. I've never shot it before. I plan on shooting one roll on vacation in November, and hanging the other roll on my xmas tree as the 2009 ornament.

mwooten: Sometimes the foggiest notions are the best.

I have a project. Small Texas towns before they are bulldozed into oblivion or abandoned. You go out at midnight. I go out at high noon. 100 plus degrees. Nothing moving. Nothing stirring. Light as harsh for it's brightness as your nights for their emptiness.

The 100' of Arista/Foma with good Mojo from you and Kyle would be fun. It would be teamed with the bulk rolls of expired PanF+ I bought here. And some APX 25. Or teamed with the long expired color film that lends it's own special look. A dark filter or two may be needed under the noonday sun. Speaking of noonday, Noonday, Texas is on my list for documenting.

There you have it. Matching 35mm cameras. Slow film. Fast film. Small towns. 24/7. Bias toward High Noon. Old movie marquees a favorite. A bit of ancient Kodachrome while I still can. Medium and large format as I see fit.

Cheers!

Wayne

ps: 2 bottles of Rodinal standing by.

I'm all stocked up on 35mm film thanks to a couple of folks who "went digital" a year or so ago. What I am looking for, though, is 120 B&W film for a couple of projects that I'm reviving from the 1960's and '70's thanks to "finding" my old Minolta Autocord and Rolleiflex T. If you have any 120 conventional B&W film, any type or speed, please keep me in mind. Thanks, AL http://thepriceofsilver.BLOGSPOT.com

I replied on your post. I don't have a specific project to work on as of yet, but I'll definitely find it very useful. Thanks for the generosity of your offer! :)

Vencha, et all: Your projects sound great! Post a link to the images on my blog an I'll take a look.

If you don't post it there, I can't choose it. If I choose something that didn't get posted, naysayers will accuse me of not really giving the film away, or pre-determining a project and giving it to one of my friends. I'm already catching heat for this (!) on some other boards.

Thanks!

If I knew how to post links on your blog I'd be dangerous. You may cut and paste the "links text" and get there.

I can post them here:

Thanks, Wayne/venchka, for posting the links. I'm enjoying seeing your backroads of Texas series. I would like to order a photo book of them when you're done. Please let me know if you put one together.

Thanks,
Randy

Randy,

Thank you so much! I will redouble my efforts. I need to organize the gallery better. It's grown quickly and somewhat out of control.

I'll make a list. You are down for autographed copy #2. I must reserve #1 for my family.

Thanks Wayne! Really looking forward to seeing the final product. And keep shooting while all those places still exist.

Best,
Randy

P.S. In case you're wondering about my interest - I was born and raised in Texas and still have lots of family in your neck of the woods.

Sorry, but I keep looking for a phrase like: "the film went to ...."

I'm too old to Blog.

No worries. It didn't come to me.
