I know the only source is ebay from japanese vendor (matsuiya and i-qju), do you think it's worth it? to get this beauty new or rather I wait for used one?. Thanks for any advice!.

I've always been a bit of a believer in buying new ... but with the RD-1 I don't think I'd go that way. I've seen too many sold for $1600 or less with a couple of thousand actuations on them and that would be my choice. :)

$1750 plus PP will get you one (R-D1s) with about 24 actuations on it. Bought it less than a month ago. paid $2100. includes everything that came with it (IE, box, strap, etc.).

that is a $350 savings .

360 bay transactions 98% positive FB. ID 35mmdelux. contact me via RFF if interested.

Or you could get a used R-D1s w/ bizillion actuations and pay $1500-1600.

Go for a new set if you are not comfortable with used one. Usually, if you have to ask, it best to buy new.

However, there are plenty careful owners always swapping gears. Getting used ones (especially from here) will allow you to verify things like software upgrade, mapped dead pixels, dead pixels on LCD etc.

Cheers,
