I just was able to get my newly purchased, second hand Imacon, Flextight Precision II scanner running with windows 7 (Home Premium 32 bit edition).

Nice write up. Surprise that the Adaptec 2906 worked on it. For me I would love to use it on my Dell 690 Workstation.
If I'm able to get the correct SCSI card for the Dell 690, then I would definitely go that route on a Windows machine.

The Adaptec 2906 fits into a PCI expansion slot. I had to plug and then re-plug the card into a different slot to get Windows XP to recognize the card. After I got it working on XP I then installed Win 7. However, I think that you can go with Win 7 on a clean install (essentially what I did.) If the Dell 690 has a PIC slot then the 2906 might fit. The specs say it has One PCI 32bit/33Mhz slot. I am running Win 7 32bit, not 64bit. So no idea what happens if you use Win 7 64 bit. You could run with a dual boot if you need both Win 7 32 bit and the 64 bit versions. I use the Win 7 32 Bit on a separate box just to do the scanning. All the 3F file work and later processing is on another system running Win 7 64 bit and the latest version of Flex Scan (which only runs on Win 64 bit.
