According to Peter Dechert, all Canon S models (including this rare Japanese Navy version) came with a "J-flange with a Nippon Kogaku focusing unit."

You could buy 30 to 60 top collectible Leica LTMs for that price. And be able to sell them easier if you got tired of them.

Well, you can ask $30,000, but it doesn’t mean you’re going to get it. Still, there's no denying this is a rare and unusual camera.

I talked to a friend in Japan. He said the camera is reasonably priced for collectors. He has never seen one even in Japan. It is a very rare camera indeed.
