Duggal.com- 29 West 23rd Street
I think they do all in house, if not, they do it really near by, done usually same or next day.. More expensive than others I think, and very snooty.........

Yuck.. I hate snooty.. ha.. Thank you very much. I'll try them all out at some point.. I just don't like to wait 2 weeks for my slides.. I'm very impatient!

LOL yeah... Last time I went there, I got this look like, how dare you bring these sub-par negatives to be processed by our god-like fixie riding processing elves... !!! or something like that. :)

Haha and I like to push my slides.. three stops usually, if I push.. Should be interested to see their faces/reactions to that.. Every other place I've take my slides to for that have looked at me like I'm crazy..
Me:"I'd like to have these processed. And could you push them three stops please?"
Employee:"Three.. stops? Are you-"
Me:"-Yes, I'm sure.. Yes, I know the blacks will go slightly grey. Yes, I've done this before.."

I like Duggal, they always do a good job, and I have never felt uncomfortable there... especially since they have downsized the hallway that used to be their store: now it is almost too cozy in that smaller more humane space. One thing is sure, they are often quite busy, and certainly they seem to have less time to chitchat than the little labs on 22nd street south of Duggal... for example www.landiphotolabs.com which is between 6th and 5ht on 22nd is less busy in general, but they are not always open, at least not as late as Duggal (still open Sundays but no longer process during weekends?). Enjoy your new neighborhood, it is a good place to live for a photographer.

I've heard good things about Chelsea Photographic, but I have not tried them yet myself.

I agree that duggal can be snooty, they do generally do a good job.

Ok, so I went there today, and they send their E6 out. Never mind.
They seem to mostly do custom b+w.

I can recommend these two and they both do in-house E6, i believe.

LTI http://www.lti-lightside.com/ , a friend recommends, actually.
I've never tried them because, unfortunately, they close at 6pm and aren't open weekends... However, my friend swears by them and the results i've seen have been good.

Color Resource Center http://www.crc-nyc.com/home.html , which is the vistaimaginggroup, i do use and i've been very happy with the results. clean negatives and good service.

Looking at prices, however, i'm surprised to see that Duggal isn't actually more expensive than these other labs! Over the years i've tried various other labs while avoiding Duggal, mainly because of the price...looks like it's no longer true.

I've been taking my film to photobar--it's on 28th between Park and Lexington. I generally shoot B&W or C41, but have gotten a roll or two of E6 developed there--they do good work, and it's right near where you are moving to.

The Lomo store is a bit further south on 23rd--they process film as well. Fun place to browse if you're into the toy camera scene.
