I just returned from a wedding in Delhi, where I made some time for street shooting. What a wonderful city. Rich and diverse culturally, and full of activity.

I started shooting at waist level with the camera's flip screen and liked it so much I stuck with it for about 80% of my shots. At 6'1" I've always had to contort myself to avoid shooting down on people, a perspective I don't like. I found the articulating LCD so handy and the perspective so fine that I'm not sure I would buy another camera without one, at least not for street work.

A few shots included below and more on the web site. All with Nex 7 and mainly Sigma 19mm.

Nice images! The fourth one is the Jama Masjid, but the second one, is that the (Jain) Bird Hospital at Chandni Chowk (Old Delhi)?

Very good, Mike. Yes, it's the Jain bird sanctuary. The third is Majnu ka Tila, the Tibetan settlement, also in Old Delhi. Enjoyed photographing that area especially.

Thanks -- I was wondering about the third one -- duh! My guess was some enclave for folks from Sikkim or AP, but wasn't aware of any such enclave. I was close (sort of), I guess. That Tibetan neighborhood is along the Yamuna, north of the Red Fort?

Had a chance to look at your website -- awesome series. Brought back a lot of memories...

Yes, it's along the Yamuna. I walked there from the Model Town metro station. It's the largest Tibetan settlement outside of Dharamsala, and is like stepping into another country. Thanks for your kind words about the photos.
