...with 2 lenses i have 16-230 (24-350) covered!

they are small, sharp and light weight…fit easily into my camera bag and i can carry them all day without shedding a tear or a discouraging word…

i know that eventually i will return to my faster primes but till then i am enjoying the change!!

Small, sharp and light weight - what more could you want? Exactly what I enjoy about my gear. How did I ever carry all of the heavyweight stuff I used to? Must have been younger and in better shape...Hmm.

I'm determined to keep my kit at three lenses, right now a 14, 35 and 60. The only temptation for me is to trade the 60 for a 55-200. Even so, it is much larger and I lose the macro capability. I'm standing firm with what I have so far.

My current grab and go kit is a pair of Panasonic G2 bodies, with the 14~45 on one and the 45~200 on the other. They live in a Lowepro Event Messenger, along with a Samyang 7.5mm and my iPad.

Shoot and view from 15mm to 400mm. How good does it get? 😀

I have an old book on Yashica AF system (ever used that?) which reviews lenses (besides anything else) basing on ranges - using this, this and this you cover WHOLE RANGE from Xmm to Ymm. I think this amateur approach - cover whole available range instead of picking exact focal lengths (or certain zooms which get most of use, like 28-85 or 70-300) - but I'm not a saint who hasn't accumulated extra gear which sits barely used.....just thinking out loudly.

P.S. Being an amateurs means nothing negative, I'm such myself and probably most of us here are amateurs. And reading "bought lens" posts shows amateurs just like to try out gear and cover ranges because many haven't settled on specific subjects and/or tools. I even guess we amateurs have enormous freedom in out searches instead of profis who just have to deliver otherwise they aren't getting paid.

i have the 18/23/60 as my 3 lens kit…they live in the leather ona bowery with a xe1 body.

at the ripe old age of 63…i am discovering the joys of being an amateur…and not taking myself so seriously or secretly harbouring a desire to be a professional or be discovered or just be something that i'm not.

my friends think that i'm an artist with a great eye…cool! i'll go with that...

In my walking bag this morning I have the Sony A7 fitted with Summilux-R 50mm and the Summicron-R 90mm in the cell pocket. The camera is compact and light. Lenses are not. But I'm in love with the look these lenses produce. They needed to be used with a big sensor, so be it.

Hey, it's smaller and lighter than carrying them with the Leicaflex SL ... ]🙂
