Info about the Kin-Dar stereo camera

I've had this camera sitting around for a while. Tonight I finally sat down to clean it and make sure it was working. It's missing two tiny pieces that are needed to hold the door closed. I can use the camera with the door taped closed.

It's built like a tank and the rangefinder is pretty decent considering the oddball underneath layout.

Do any of you have any information about these? History and value, etc...
