I thought it would be interesting if we could compile a thread of rangefinder specs, to help those who find this site and that are looking for specific specs a camera has. I'll start off with the Canon Canonet QL17 G-III.

Quick Glossary
Flashmatic: system that adjusts the aperature of the lense based on focusing distance, film speed, and flash guide number to yield a proper flash exposure.

If I have anything wrong or missing, please Private Message me and I will add it or correct it, and also cite your contribution. If you know the name of the adaptor for button cells, or the website of the company, please PM me with it and I will add it and cite your contribution.

Please also add more rangefinder specs.

This is a good idea. I will create a forum for specs and move this info over to it.

Jorge:

While you're at it, could we standardize a format for specs so that information will go into roughly the same place on each post? That makes it easier for comparison purposes.

-Paul

What I have in mind is that each thread will be specific to an item. For example.

Leica M6 TTL

will only have specs for the body. not the lens .

The vast majority of rangefinder cameras have non-interchangeable lenses. However, many of the Japanese cameras are almost identical bodies with different lenses, eg. Yashica Minister D and Minister 700 differ mostly in the lens and nothing else.
