I've been trying to get increased B&W Epson inkjet sharpness from my 4000ppi scans.
The easiest way to get max sharpness simply calls for Epson's "black only" setting (not available in the newest machines I think). But Quadtone (QTRgui) allows more tone control, very cold black to extreme sepia...but it tends to be less sharp than black-only.
My desire for sharper Quadtone has led to several days of exchanges on several Yahoo groups and Photo.net...that has all led to today's exchange on photo.net , the best so far...
I've stolen two relevant posts and placed them on the RFF Darkroom Forum.
If you want maximum sharpness and you use Epson/QTR (may even apply to color?) you should check this out.
