I picked up a used small field bag on eBay and love it. I think this is my new day bag. The Domke inserts I was using (I originally got them for an F-803) are a little bit tall...anybody know of a good-fitting set of inserts for this bag?

Been thinking about this bag myself. Love to know how you feel about it as a camera bag. I think Timbuk2's extra small "Snoop" camera insert could work though it maybe a bit of tight fit.

I noticed the Domke short inserts but can't find the dimensions anywhere...they just seem to be designed for specific bags...
The Timbuk2 one may work but it's really expensive!
I might try one of these http://www.amazon.com/Ape-Case-ACQB35-Interior-Cameras/dp/B009GA6CNY/

John - I will try and measure my small Domke insert when I get home tonight. PM me to remind me.
I like the Domkes because they are not overly padded, which is important for a small bag.

Yeah, me too...other inserts I've tried are a bit excessively robust. I'll PM you!

The insert on the left is shorter and the same height as the insert that came with the F2.
Crumpler made some inserts not too long ago and the smallest one will fit. Called the Haven and you'll have to look on ebay since they are discontinued--I have the medium and small. My medium one has my Fujica GS645S in it and the insert is in my Filson backpack.
Tenba makes and insert called the BYOB. The 7 might be what you're looking for. Mine is the larger one and I have my Nikon D5300 and 70-200 f/4 ( and other stuff ) in it and it's in a Kelty backpack I take to my kid's track meets.

I remembered without the PM
6.5x5.5x3.5 - That size fits perfectly in the F6.

The Filson must be quite small, then.

I'll tell you what, though, I think my Domke inserts actually fit OK. I wish they were an inch shorter, and they're kind snug left-to-right, but they should do the trick, now that I've tried them out. Maybe I'll chop an inch off and sew them back together.
Yeah, it's 10x9x4, outside dimensions...

I have that bag although no longer my go-too. When I used it I just put one small camera and lens, another lens in a pouch. Better not to crowd it, IMO. The lip on the opening is a good feature but if you cram it in, then its hard to work with.

i've cut them down a bit and duck taped the tops where i cut...ugly but it works.

for me it's either buy a sewing machine, get a friend to 'volunteer' to sew for me or use duct tape...

Zing makes a neoprene pouch that will fit inside the Filson small fiels bag: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=113798&gclid=CMGajNfN0MwCFYM2aQodUFMHUA&is=REG&ap=y&m=Y&c3api=1876%2C92051677562%2C&Q=&A=details
This would be a good insert to use, but I would still add extra padding inside under the neoprene pouch just to be on the safe side.
