"Instagram has just announced that it'll be reverting back to the original Terms of Service for the advertising section that has been in place since 2010. Which basically means they've abandoned the whole mess they just created because they saw how pissed off everyone was. Good thing Instagram pays attention to the Internet!"

But for how long?????

I'm kind of surprised since typically a website is perfectly happy to sh!t all over their users and couldn't care less about their opinions or complaints. They usually count on lots of new suckers signing up to replace the people they alienate. The fact they even acknowledged people were unhappy is kind of astonishing these days. Yet, they will probably end up disregarding everybody as soon as they practically can.

next change no doubt will be made more sophisticated and clout manner, as part of corporate reorganizing with Facebook for example. dont regret deleting my account, snapseed et al does just fine.

More then likely that over the next year or so they'll make several very low key changes one line at a time till they have what they want.

I'm done. As soon as FB bought them the writing was on the wall. The mapping was the first part, and I almost left then. I'm ordering a few blurb books of my feed (as an archive) and then deleting 'em. This will be back, no doubt as filmtwit says via incremental steps that are easier to slip down the communities throat.

Pretty much in 100% of all TOS agreements. It's probably in the TOS for this forum even. Unfortunately that's the line websites point to any time they surprise launch a new heinous feature that everybody hates and nobody knows how to use or turn off. :bang:
