Instruction manual S3 2000

Does anybody know if an English version of this instruction manual exists?

Yes. English language manuals were included with the S3 Year 2000 Limited Edition and S3 Limited Edition Black kits that were officially exported.

I remember NIKON KIU offered to scan and upload his English language manuals a while back. How's that coming along Kiu (hint hint) ???

Well, that would be great. I couldn't find a copy doing a general search. I wonder if Nikon would sell me a copy if I asked?

For a camera as uncomplicated as the S3 2000...the Japanese manual worked fine for me.

Mike Butkus (www.butkus.org) has a site from which you can download camera manuals very inexpensively. Among those available is an original SP manual in English (which is close enough to the S3 manual to give you all the information you'll need to operate the camera).
He asks for a donation of about $3.00 or $4.00 for the download.
