Jake, you amaze me. Anyway, I think I can follow what they're saying about chemical processes in the development of B&W negatives, but I never took a class in chemistry so I might be missing something.

I'm sure someone with a better understanding of this than mine or John's will chime in.

Just did a quick read through. It is the process to recover Silver from used fixer. Long time since I took my HS chemistry classes!
