I recently got a mamiya 55mm f4.5 TLR lens with dislodged shutter blades. So I got to work opening it up to put the shutter blades back. After putting the shutter blades back, I realised that they didn't fully open when the shutter is released.
So I disassembled it and tried again. After a while I realised that for this lens the shutter blades do not actually need to open fully since the light path through the shutter is quite small.
This is it with the front elements attached:
I just find this interesting for them to design it this way.
Have anyone else found this in other lenses?
