International Festival of Photojournalism "Visa pour l'image" Perpignan

By chance I will be in Perpignan during the International Festival of Photojounalism, "Visa pour l'image". Does anyone have any experience with the festival. I can't tell if it will be a commercial frenzy or a serious and worthwhile event.

If it's the same as in 2007, it's well worth visiting. The business part is during professional week and doesn't interfere with the exhibitions. There are exhibits happening in various wonderful venues. There may also be seminars, discussions, book signings and portfolio reviews during the professional week. Check out the website for events.

Not to be missed are the nightly slideshows on giant screens. One venue is for accredited professionals, another for the general public. I don't think these slideshows are shown outside of professional week.
