I find it visually annoying personally. I would like to control some of the colors they chose as they are awful on the eyes.

I also do not like the colors the folders become over images. I have to pick wallpaper for my home screens based on what color it makes the folders instead of for how it looks in the background.

I hope they do fixes, cleanup etc to make this mess a little less messy.

And the battery drain... oh boy.

I have an IPT, and I like the look of 7. I watched Netflix all night, and the battery seemed to last just as long as it did under 6 (with Bluetooth off.) I think though that the battery shows more usage early in the discharge cycle, but I suspect it's just the display.

Don't like change in this respect. Everything is different and I have to spend ages trying to close windows etc. what's the point of it?

I don't make judgements on UI changes and such until I give myself time to become used to the new UI and capabilities. I've only been using iOS 7 for three or four days at this point.

... And the battery drain... oh boy.

The first 24 hours after I did the upgrades on all of my iOS devices saw a bit of heavy battery drain. Since then, the power consumption seems to be just as it was with iOS 6, that is, in my average daily use like today, my primary devices (iPhone 4S and iPad mini) came off the charger at 6:30am and by this point in the day (around 1:30pm) the battery state display is saying between 86 and 90 percent of charge remaining. Yesterday, I played a full length documentary ("Side by Side", 1h:38m play time) via AirPlay to the AppleTV and my living room television around 7:30pm. Battery state when I started (again an average day's use) was around 65% and the state afterwards was around 48%.

My usage habits haven't had time to change much, and that seems pretty much "business as usual" with respect to power for the iPad mini. I suspect the heavy initial drain was iOS 7 doing all its housekeeping tasks. Time will tell. :)

Just a quick update from my side of using it...

I was using it on an iPhone 4S 64GB. The lag/delays and all the visual effects literally gave me motion sickness and eye strain. It got so bad that after using it for a while one day I had to put it away and go lay down.

I changed the background to black, turned on "Reduce Motion", turned on "Bold Text" and "Increase Contrast" and this helped some. It made me less motion sick to use it.

I got a new iPhone yesterday which is much faster. No lag or delays, but I went ahead and turned the settings on the same just in case.

I am hating it less now then I did.

The Calendar app = awful. I use Tempo and Fantastical anyway but the new Calendar is just not good for me.

I don't care for the Collections part of teh Photos/Camera Roll app and I don't care for how sharing photos via email etc takes so many more steps and requires you to look at a cluttered screen to get to the point where you email the photo.

But like I said, it's growing on me.

Godfrey, I had crazy bad battery drain until I turned off some of the apps that were being allowed to update in the background via Background App Refresh.

I also attributed some of my battery drain issues due to the fact that I was using it more since it was new. I saw the most improvement with the above changes to the Background App Refresh settings.

Good to hear that you've found a few settings changes that help and are becoming more accustomed to it.

So far, I haven't had any problems. I use the standard calendar app, works fine for me, but then I've never been all that demanding of the calendar. I'm liking the new UI more as I grow familiar with it. (I like it even more running on the iPad mini.)

Mostly, it just works and I don't think about it too much. Some of the UI redesign appeals to me simply because it is less cluttered to look at compared to iOS 6. Different eyes, I guess. ;-)

Absolutely hate it. I find the graphics amateurish by comparison. The colors are also horrid.

+1 but I haven't used it yet. In fact the just looking at the sample screens and new icon style puts me off the whole thing. It just looks cheap and plasticky to me where as previous iOS versions look nice.

It seems that you can't even get away from the nasty colour look even staying with iOS6 though as some apps have updated to the new look. :bang:

I suppose I'll just have to bite the bullet and upgrade at some point. :( I'll hold off as long as I can though.
