Howdy peoples! I am going to Hong Kong tomorrow in a couple days, I am thinking about buying an ipod touch there (its significantly cheaper then in the mainland).

I just had a few questions from anyone who might know.

I would also like to buy that camera adapter thing apple put out so you can dump a cf card onto a ipod, I assume it still works with the touch?

I am more interested in the touch's wireless internet capabilities, since my old man made off with my laptop I have been wireless internet less which kind of itches. I have played with the touch and found it to be vastly superior to my PSP for internet use. I do a lot of work through my yahoo mail, does yahoo mail work through the mail program on the touch?

Are there third party programs that can be installed to the touch like yahoo messenger or something like that?

If I want to be able to dump my camera card onto the touch I assume the 8 gb model will not work too great for that, I was thinking maybe the 16 or the 32. I have never taken 16 gb's of photos on one outing before but there is always a first time for everything, couldnt hurt to have it.

Regarding the video function, I know there is a way to connect the touch to a tv through that red yellow white cable thing, I was wondering about video on the touch, I would like to convert my own video and stick it on the touch, I assume this is possible?

Oh and just how long can you use the internet on that thing before the battery goes out?

Here in China open wireless internet is all over so im not worried about those subscription hot spots. For instance starbucks here is all free wireless internet, I dont know what its like in europe or america though.

I was studying the case of usage of iTouch earlier for these purposes and finally reject this project.
I 've chosen Samsung Q1 Ultra for travelling purposes as a fully functional computer at the size of 3 iTouches.
Q1 is a great travelling device!

sounds interesting, I will look it up, how much was yours? I thought about getting another notebook computer but seemed like a little more then i wanted to spend. Also battery life was quite important to me, and if the touch could do a number of the things I wanted it to do but be much small then that was a plus too.

I just took a quick look, interesting, awfully slow and expensive, but interesting none the less. An idea.

Why slow? It's not supposed to work with PS3 :)
It's extremely capable travel gadget, nothing more.
Mine cost me circa 1200-1300 but two voyages I used it I really appreciated all its features

I was:
- looking movies on it during the flight in apropriate quality
- copying photos in RAW to store on it
- watching jpegs just for fun
- surfing web
- using for GPS
- typing and sending mails
- working with my bank account
- skype calls home
- keeping conference materials and presentations

all of these tasks were carried out for A+
