is it possible to attach CZ lens to Bessa R body?

I have used my ZI 50mm Planar on my Bessa R3A without problems, or adaptors for that matter. If you have a bayonet R body you should not have a problem (I have not read of any issues re distance to film plane etc that existed with hexars using others' lenses - Erwin Puts might know) As far as I am aware adaptors for m bayonet lenses to go on screw fit bodies do not exist.

As CJP6008 says, you can use ZI lenses on R2, R2A and R3A, because they are M mount, but you can´t use a ZI lens on a Bessa R, because it only works with ltm lenses.

Mark - you could do it with a LTM to M adapter, then a M to Contax adapter. For wide angle lenses, because of the retroficus design of SLR wide-angle lenses, it's best to use rangefinder lenses, if you have a rangefinder camera. Focussing would be by estimation only.

Mark - ignore that advise. I was totally confused, and incorrect. You could do M to LTM, but not LTM to M - and so the contax to LTM option is not a runner - ot so I thought. Then I read this on Cameraquest -

How about an adapter which allows you to use your Leica R, Contax SLR, Nikon F, Canon FD, or Pentax Screw Mount wide angles on your Leica M or Leica Screw mount body? Click Here.

So who knows? I'm totally confused.

Someone here should know for sure.

break it down into 2 parts.

if so, what adaptors are there and what are the type of lenses to chose from?
To provide a truly definitive answer it seems there's not enough info on what you want. WHICH Bessa-R body? The original screw-mount body (I would assume) or the subsequent R2/R3? Then WHICH Zeiss lenses in what mount do you have in mind? Zeiss made lenses for a lot of different systems.

The currently-produced "ZM" lenses fit directly on any M-mount body, that's the easy one. Contax SLR lenses (of various mounts), and lenses from Hasselblad & Rollei SLRs might be adapted to fit either Leica thread mount or bayonet mount. Maybe Zeiss lenses for the Contax rangefinder cameras too... Zeiss lenses for the Contax G1/G2 system can be converted to M-mount at high cost.
