Previously, before switching to a mac, I used ACDSee Pro on my windows machine for editing and post processing images. In ACDSee you are able to 'flip' an image which is useful if you've scanned a neg the wrong way around.
When I went Apple I migrated to Lightroom but see no facility for doing this .... I can rotate but I don't see any other options. Am I missing something?

Yes, you did.
I've been using LR for years and discover new things from time to time.
In the Photo Menu there are a Flip Horizontal and Flip Vertical commands. The Photos Menu is available in both the Library and Develop modes. When multiple images are selected, you can flip them all.
