Yes, the film-based R9 is no longer in production. A digital R10 is expected in the next few months.

The manual-focus analog line - R9 and current R lenses - will not be manufactured any more. The auto-focus digital S line should spawn a replacement "R10" which Leica intends will accommodate manual-focus R lenses - don't know what the if's, and's, or but's are yet though.
I heard the so-called R10 (or whatever it will be called) has been pushed back to 2010, but who knows. The S2 should be available first, then the R replacement will follow.
