I ordered a black Voigtlander 25/4 lens, black Bessa L body and half-case (all on sale) from RFF sponsor Photo Village on Wednesday afternoon (January 11). On Thursday evening (January 12), PV called to tell me that they were out of stock of the black 25/4; would I mind a chrome version? No problem, I said. Chrome for the lens and L body would be fine.

Upon returning home from work today (January 13) I found the UPS truck parked in my driveway with a big box for me from....Photo Village! From New York City to the Boston area in under 12 hours. Is that some kind of record??

Rich and Will from PV are to be congratulated for their customer service. They promptly returned my emails, answered my questions and were generally very helpful. Their prices on merchandise and shipping were also very reasonable. I will certainly buy from PV again (do I hear a Nokton calling me... ? 😀 )

I'll remember that when I finally get around to buying a Nokton. I highly doubt, though, that NY-Iowa in 12 hours would be possible. 😀

I've never heard of that. Incredible. Certainly PV deserves kudos. And you got a Bessa L/25mm combo to boot, so go out and shoot! (unless you want in on the contest) 🙂

I ordered my Ultron 35mm from them and recieved prompt service as well.. though it was no 12 hours! Two or three days from NY to Kansas City. The NOS (new old stock) was a great deal and I always watch their site for more like it. Thumbs up!

Come to think of it, it's possible that the fellas at PV dropped my package off on Thursday night -- not Friday morning -- which would have made the shipping time more like 18-20 hours. Still good, IMO. Plus, the "half" case on sale at PV turned out to be a "full" case! A pleasant surprise.

The Bessa L & 25/4 seem made for one another. The finder, even without the brightlines, is terrific! I wear glasses and it has a nice high eyepoint. The image is bright and clear, too. My first impressions of the L are also very positive. It's really small but not as "cheap-feeling" as some would have you believe. The only initial complaint I have about the L is the flimsy battery cover.

I'm going to put a roll of 400 color print film in the L & 25/4 and take her for spin tomorrow. Very excited....I may even write up a brief review after a few weeks.

I've just had a a 22 hours package from Scotland to Portugal. And I cannot believe the many people I've seen online who have been waiting *weeks* for stuff.

In Europe UPS (or DHL etc) is generally 'next day' and postal service is three days whether you pay for normal or express, it's exactly the same.

That IS a record!

I'm kind of down on UPS these days - as are many others. Usually prefer USPS Priority (which has tie-in to FedEx overnight).

Maybe UPS is "getting it"?

Thanks for info....

I think I've mentioned this before, but I ordered my CVII from CameraQuest by email on a Friday evening, had a reply on Saturday that it would ship on Monday......and on Wednesday I came home from work to find the package waiting for me.
I was astonished, especially since an ordinary greeting card from another city in the Netherlands sometimes takes longer!
