Hi everyone,
So I have this 21mm finder I got with my 15mm VC. I need a 15mm finder because I shoot 35mm film.
I was wondering is the 21mm finder really a 15mm with lines added?? I have the 1st version, the plastic one.
Anybody know?
Thanks~
Steve

Hello Steve,
You don't need another finder. I have them both and they are just the same. The 21mm finder is really a 15mm one with bright lines added.

hi, i have a 15mm viewfinder. I'm wondering if I can turn it into a 21mm one with some modification?

Hmmm ...
Hmmm ...
Thanks for the message. So they are the same optically? Physically?
Just the bright lines added?
That would be cool because then I have a 15mm / 21mm finder!! (dancing wildly!!) WOW ... now I need an M8. Right.

@spuser:
technically speaking, yes.
but unless you are in it for the experience, or you are happy with a masked finder, i would recommend to you to buy another finder.

Hi Steve,
Yep, they are just the same both optically and physically. Just the bright lines added.
CV 21mm finder is really great finder with many options. Not only 21mm and 15mm, but it is not hard to estimate anything between it. For example I use this finder with CV 12mm Heliar lens on my Epson R-D1s (18mm field of when used on this camera).

Is this also true for the 21/25 mm finder?

Hi, and what about Ricoh GV-1 viewfinder, that have 21/28mm frame lines.
Does it then covers 15mm without lines?

Because the previous replies determined that the first version of the VC 21mm finder will incorporate the 15mm view, I would like to ask the following question.
Does the new ZI 21mm finders also cover the 15mm view when used full frame? I’m putting together an outfit for a big trip (big for me at least) and have picked up a VC 15mm and watching for a ZI 21mm. I don’t normally use anything like a 15mm but use a 21mm frequently. I’ll probably sell the 15mm after the trip and don’t want to get two finders. I would go on and get the ZI 21mm finder if the full frame coverage included the 15mm view. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
RM
