Nice to be here again.
I sold my first R-D1 in 2010, get an M8.
Yes, sorry for that 😁 Then later i get sone other
small Cameras, Fuji x, Ricoh GR and so on.

But NOW i'm happy 😀
I have done a big mistake in 2010

Never change again

Thanks !
Now i will buy a 50mm lens.
Dont know if i should buy a Nokton 1.5
(Ltm) or something else. For years i
Had a color scopar 2.5 but this is hard to
Find here in Germany. Damn, i sold it all

When I switched from an RD-1 to an M8, I found there wasn't anything the RD-1 could do that the M8 couldn't, and then some! But the RD-1 has that special feel.

Maybe the OP could describe a little more about the whole journey and what especially makes the RD-1 attractive again.

(I wish that I could have kept my M8).

The unique feel always tugs at the senses, try the Nokton, or a Canon 1.2, I think they're great. Budget concerns? Get a nice Jupiter 8.

I agree, that would be an interesting story. I am sure many of us have been there and back.

Hey, thanks for the warm welcome, guys.
I 'm interested in a Canon Serenar 1.8 LTM
The Bokeh looks like a old Sonnar, and its quit
Cheap.
Anyone tested it with our Epson ?

To be honest, I haven't used my Epson much since I got an M9. But when I go back to the Epson files, I can't help be impressed with the quality and look of them. My addiction to 50mm lenses started with the R-D1, and the Nokton 50mm F1.5 was the first one I owned. It's very nice on the Epson, and because of the crop, its size doesn't block the view through the viewfinder, as I recall. Enjoy your new camera!

The Nokton 1.5 is easy to use and very sharp.

But it is very flare sensitive, it can give "old look" to the picture, or not what you expect from a modern lense, shooting against the sun.

Good results also with CANON LTM 50mm 1.4, but also flare senstive (but less than nokton), and less sharp and contrasty till f2

Leitz Elmar f3.5 are very good, but only 3.5.
I don't have good results with leitz elmar 2.8, nor summitar, and color derive.

The summar is to reserve for "B&W old look" pictures

;)
