Hi there,
I am still using the LS30 scanner for my analog images. Resolution-wise I am completely satisfied with it, it seems to resolve any film I have used so far down to the grain. However, I am having difficulties to get the colours right. I mainly use vuescan, which gives me the best results in most situations over the Nikon Scan software.
I would quite like to try an IT8 profile and see if this helps with the colours. Does anyone here have the profile for this scanner that I could try?
I am still not certain what to make of the film profiles that vuescan and Silverfast offer. Sometimes using the profile looks good (which I find e.g. for the Kodak Portra films), and sometimes it looks awful (e.g. Kodak gold). When do you use the profiles, and do you have more consistent success with them over the "generic film setting"?
Cheers,
cluso
