instead I watch TV, a travel journal about Shanghai.
So I got out the battered Rollei 35 TE I had with me in 1997. Looking at that old beater, every ding and dent reminds me. There is the scratch on the front over the i from Rollei it aquired in Bergen/Norway in 1983. The big dent on the edge over the viewfinder from San Juan/Puerto Rico 1985, the ding over the T from 35 TE it got when we rode off a hurican in september 1985 on our way to Jacksonville/FL. The mercury battery I bought in Shanghai is still working and I have a spare just in case. I had it serviced at Rollei two years ago and the meter will work with silver oxyde batteries if need be.
There are more memories in the camera than in the pictures I took with it.

My mother in 1985, Rollei 35TE, Ilford HP4 ?

Thanks for sharing that. Lovely photo of mother. I have one too, a Rollei TE, I mean. And a mother as well!

Nice shot Socke, it's funny to see that she has the same expression my mother got when I started running around with my camera, must be a global mom thing :). It's always fun to hear about the stories that go with the cameras in addition to seeing the photos they take.

Socke,
nice story and really good pic of mom.
one question, what did you do to the dog to make her/hime moon you? :)
