Its so beautiful...

Finally, something to smile about! I got my collapsible Summicron in the mail today. Paired with the M3, it looks absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, the battery in my sister's digital camera died, so I could only get one (bad) photo of it. I already shot off two rolls around the house, and its awesome. Getting used to the focusing knob is a bit weird, but hopefully I'll get the hang of it soon enough. I can't believe I actually considered getting rid of it, this thing is an absolute joy to use!

Oh, I have a question. Where can I find one of those levers that go over the knob to make rewinding the film easier? Knob rewind isn't that annoying for me, but the extra convenience would be nice. I saw PhotoVillage sells one, but its $99, which for me is not worth it.

I saw the words " So beautiful" I knew there had to be a M3 involved.

I am glad to see you are enjoying the camera, Kyle. The summicron is a perfect match for it.

Before the rewind crank, I would consider getting a filter first, as the collapsible's older coating is prone to scratching and wipe marks. A hood would also be advisable, as it is somewhat prone to flare.

If you will carry it around with a wrist strap for any extended period, the M3 can be pretty heavy. A grip may help.

The photoequip rewind crank is the most inexpensive I know, at $99. Still, that is expensive I know -- welcome to the world of Leica. ;)

What Ray said, especially about the filter and hood. I keep my M3 in the bottom half (only)of its ever ready case because of the protection and it gives me more to hold onto, otherwise a grip is a good idea too.
