Cormac McCarthy's Olivetti Lettera 32 typewriter sold for over $250,000 back in 2009. He turned around and bought another for under $30.
I don't know if any of the Kerouac machines have sold or if they remain at the Kerouac house in Florida. I'm surprised his Leica sold for so little.

Shocked at the low value.

But you can call me Steve
He didn't use the Leica to write his work, that might explain the price.

A IIc from a batch of nearly 10,000 made between 1948 to 1951
Around 11,000 were made in total.. yet the IIc is not that common today...I wonder if many were converted to a IIIc or a IIIf?

Maybe that price includes an annual CLA for the forseeable future?
