I recently purchased a Contina IIa in pristine condition i.e. body, lens and leather case for £5 from a charity shop. The shutter has now jammed although it worked perfectly when I examined it before purchase. Have had a look on the web and it would seem that this camera's shutter is prone to jamming. See the following link

Bearing in mind Robert's view that the cost of repair is prohibitive do photos obtained from such a camera make it worth sending it off to a UK repairer to find out if the shutter could be fixed for a reasonable sum or trying to repair it myself? I've not ever attempted such a task. It is not a camera that I would use as my main one but I'd love to see images taken with it. Alternatively I could use it as a paper weight - a lovely bricky one at that.
