I am a fan of using a hood 90-95% of the time, I think it offers protection against bumps and smudges (I have two dogs!). I want to get an adapter and a hood that can be reversed and stored on the lens when I put the X100 in my bag.
I know that the hood made by Lim's (#SAH-X100F1) is reversible, but ...
... can the hood made by JJC be reversed and stored on the lens?
Thanks for any info you can share.

If you're not fixed on the idea of a "standard" hood, and you don't mind a bit of tinkering, why not try this idea which I got from a thread on the fujix-forum.

Unscrew the glass from an old/cheap/unwanted 49mm filter, and fit the ring (reversed) onto the camera. This acts as a spacer to protect the lens during close-focussing.

Then screw on a reversed 37mm-49mm stepping ring. It doesn't cause vignetting, and it fits inside my (non-Fuji) full case! When I get around to it, I'll probably grind off the protruding 37mm thread.

I've attached a photo of my x100 with this arrangement.
Hope this helps.

I'm pretty sure the hood I'm using is the JJC one... (I seem to remember it said so on the box) and no, it's not reverseable, I just tried it!

Thank you both,
tbhy55- I have seen the idea you suggested on the Fuji forum and I may end up doing it.
Jonasy- after looking at the photos I've seen of the JJC hood and adapter, I was unclear if it could be reversed and stored on the lens, thanks for checking.

It's a very good and compact solution.

In addition, I find it slightly better at reducing flare than the regular hood that I had been using, up until a month or two ago!
