Juipter 12 is working on R-D1?

Dear all,
Anyone knows if Juipter 12 is working on R-D1? As it has a long rear element. tks.

Yes it will work on the RD-1s. For years, the J-12 had been my standard lens on this camera. The only real kink is that metering will not be accurate since the protruding rear element blocks the metering cell- the sensor can't fully read the light off the grey curtains.

No need to worry about the rear element hitting the shutter. It won't.

thanks, so you have adjust the meter, +/- exposure? tks

That's one way to do it, but there is no definitive way really.

Some scenes will meter fine normally. With others the +/- adjustment works.
There are even times when the sunny f/16 works better than the meter.

This is because the meter reads the whole scene as it is projected on the grey blades of the shutter; when there is an extreme scene with strong backlighting or selective spot- lighting, metering accuracy will largely depend on how much is still 'seen' by meter sensor and how much is blocked by the lens's rear components.
