Went to an junk/antique shop in the west end of Glasgow yesterday and ended up with a mint 'ilford sportsman' together with a mint case, fan flash with bulbs and the manual for £5! Not bad... however it's not really a rangefinder and not worth much more than that! But its nice and it's my first 'find' of any significance here in Glasgow. Any british members can suggest any other alternative hunts? :)

The thrill of the hunt. Isn't it great unless the wife is along.

I know what you mean about the thrill. I am always stopping buy thrift stores just to see what sort of stuff I can get. So far I have gotten a little agfa casset type point and shoot, mid '60s vintage flash for my yashica, peterson dev tank, and 11 rolls of portra film (not expired). All that for under $15 USD. It is fun when you score some stuff.

You might try looking for the Dacora Dignette which was the pregenitor of the Sportsman, and is very similar. I traded up from my roll film Dacora Digna with a 'fast' f7.7 lens for a Dignette. The Sportsman was made by Dacora for Ilford.
