Last week I've visited Junk shop at Prague's Podolí, (close to Vyšehrad for those who had visited Prague)
In the pile of old FSU cameras i have found original all black Bessa RF with Heliar 105/3.5. (1936-1939) for about 40$.
Amazing camera. Great lens.

Pre-chrismas G.A.S. solved.
And there was a film inside. Communist-era Foma. Stay tuned for more photos.

Yes, you have a wonderful Christmas present there. I just sold mine (really regret it) and agree, it's a great lens. One of the best in photography.

Congratulations on a nice find. The picture captures my imagination. The pretty lady in the foreground is quiet arresting of course yet my eye (and my imagination) keeps jumping to the two in the background.

Thank you. Well it was my first date with this girl and the background couple

I hate threads like this one (unless I am the one who found something like that of course).
Congratulations!! Nice photo too.

If you have a lottery available I would go buy a ticket. With a two for two winning ratio I would continue the cycle.

Jammy bugger! (Note: this is an envious compliment in English, not an insult.)
The pics are interesting too. The third pic is particularly fascinating. Anyone know where it is? And is it flopped, like the first one (look at the registration plate)?
Cheers,
R.

Skoda Oktavia and Wartburg Kombi... hmmm, I think these were popular in late sixties early seventies.

Promised photos from Bessa. Personaly i think they are from 70'.
I'm going to guess mid 50's not only because of the station wagon design but because of the tents of in the background and the way the lady is dressed (reminds me of my mother

Interesting
That means, that the Foma roll rested in the camera for more than 50 years and the images are still there. WOW.

Did you develop it yourself? I was just thinking that there may be something on the backing paper or the spool that might indicate the date. Whenever it was it was more than a day
and yes, it's really amazing how long film can last if it is kept half way cool and dry.

Yes, I've developed it by myself in Diafine, but i've seen no date on the roll and as far as i know foma has dates on paper box.

Michael Cunningham was here last week
from the bessa RF?
amazing how long and how well preserved the negatives and photo's will be after decades, i have often waited to be surprised by an old shotgun shell of film!
ya know, I like all kinds of folders, and particularly 6x9 folders for the benefits they give and the charm they provoke...but it can be a trial sometimes to pick your favourite (from all the different models), they all have their own little advantages, the bessa RF (when in good nick) is without a doubt about the most prettiest sleekest of them all (especially the very few rare ones with actual moroccan leather instead of leatherette), they comes from a time when Zeppelins cruised the skyways!![]()

I have to admit, that he was a bit surprised, when i left my 5DII and started taking pictures with folder. But he didn't lost his line. He's a pro.
