Jupiter 11 on Bessa R

I am hoping to acquire a Bessa R and a couple of lenes. I have been seeing a lot of the Jupiter lenes for sale, and was wondering if the 11 will work. I have a line on a Jupiter 8 for this R. Any one have experience with the R and the 11?

Jeff, the J-11 is a capable lens if you find a good example and one that meshes with your rangefinder. There's no guarantee with an FSU lens that it'll live up to your expectations. Then again, it could exceed your hopes. You just never know until you give it a go.

OTOH, for not much more money you can probably find a decent 135mm f/4.5 Hektor that WILL be compatible with your Bessa R...... assuming it's in good condition and not out of wack. Same goes for the 90mm f/4 Elmar as opposed to the Jupiter-9. IF you get a compatible J-9 you'll have a fine lens. Again, it's a chancy proposition.
